Product Description

Old Point Loma Lighthouse Lens, CA

Original Artwork by Michael Combs

The Lighthouse has always been a source of comfort to passing sailors. At night, the welcoming beacon keeps the ships away from obstructions and reminds all that we are never alone in the big sea of life.

Old Point Loma was built in 1855 and operated until March of 1891. Sitting 422 ft above the Pacific Ocean, it was closed because it was many times above the clouds and fog.

This painting was created using an impressionistic effect and brushed oils. Realizing the perfect beauty of the vintage glass, Michael added a cloning brush tool to bring out the original light reflections and colors.

This is a unique viewpoint of the lighthouse as the tower at Old Point Loma is only open to the public twice per year.

This 5"X7" piece of art is printed individually on high quality glossy photo paper in a process that is overseen by Michael personally to assure that the color and quality meets his own artistic standards. It is hand signed, then mounted in an 8”X10” matte that can then be framed and proudly displayed. (Note: Matte Color may not match the photo displayed). The title of the piece is hand written on the matte with a fine point pen giving it a personal touch that is perfect for giving or keeping for a lifetime.
