Product Description

This is Michael’s favorite piece in this series and one of his personal favorite places in the world. Old Point Loma was built in 1855 and operated until March of 1891. Sitting 422 ft above the Pacific Ocean, it was closed because it was many times above the clouds and fog.

This original painting took several days to paint and uses oils in the impressionistic style that Michael is recognized for. Michael has hand painted the sky one careful brush stroke at a time to highlight the architecture of the lighthouse. The scene is very unique as there are only two days out of each year in which the tower is open to the public. A woman in period dress is seen entering the kitchen door.

This 5”X7”piece of art is printed individually on high quality glossy photo paper in a process that is overseen by Michael personally to assure that the color and quality meets his own artistic standards. It is hand signed, then mounted in an 8”X10” matte that can then be framed and proudly displayed. (Note: Matte Color may not match the photo displayed). The title of the piece is hand written on the matte with a fine point pen giving it a personal touch that is perfect for giving or keeping for a lifetime.
